University Swing

The University Swing Student Pass is a special arrangement for a reduced rate event pass for fulltime college students. This program was started by Neal Klein. The following requirements need to be met to take advantage of the reduced rate.

• You must be a full-time undergraduate student
  • Confirm your eligibility with Ken Mercik prior to registration
• You DO NOT need to be a member of University Swing
• Registration must be done via PayPal prior to the event
• Proof of full-time student status must be provided at the event
• Work as door monitors to watch for wristbands at the ballrom doors. The more students we get, the less you work.

Floor setup and breakdown

We could also use 4 students to assist the floor staff with the floor placement on Thursday Night and pick-up on Sunday immediately after the event ends. Last year it was done by 7:30pm on Sunday. You must be able to handle moving (not carrying) 40lb sheets of plywood off, and then onto, the carts. We usually work in pairs. If you work both on setting up the floor on Thursday and breaking down the floor on Sunday then your weekend pass is free. If you're interested, contact Ken Mercik at 860-559-6179 or ken@djkenm.com
